Bhakti versus ( all other known paths)

All paths have 1 goal . To realize infinite.

Man is made up of body and soul.
It is obvious that as one goes towards that infinite, changes occur at body and soul level. The change is simulatenous and must happen ,if at all ,it happens in either sphere of body or soul

All paths focus indirecty or directly on body level changes which leads to soul level changes
for eg. Controlling breath leads to control of mind which leads to awareness of self which leads to atma gyan

Bhakti focus directly on soul level. Infact it focus on soul of soul level whereby changes at soul level and at body level are natural consequences
This makes Bhakti the most natural way of progression.

The essence of Body is soul
The essence of soul is formless super soul (Bhram/Parmatma)
The essence of formless super soul is formful super soul ( Bhagvan)
The essence of formful super soul is pure divine love (hlandini Shakti)
So we ,being part of this essence of essence, a drop of this , excites , alerts us at all levels
Hence devotion of this pure divine love is the most natural way.

I am not elaborating as my blog is a substitute of my personal notes meant for my understanding and reference.I am not supposed to publish to the world as i am not qualified to write on this topics for other consumption.

My country : India

Great is the nation which got its independence not by violence but with non-violence.
Great is the nation which had a great saint as its father of nation
Great is the nation which has an ancient history when other nation were not even formed
Great is the nation which is the center of universe
Great is the nation which was in past called "Golden Bird"
Great is the nation where all branches of knowledge where developed to the extent that no further development was possible.

Where is that great nation gone?
Where is that non-violence power gone?
Where is that great saint gone?
Where is that pride in our ancient history gone?
ah.

Prarabdh is also destroyed at the time of God-realization

The verse below reveals the truth that , at the time of God realization, the remaining fate ( prarabdh) of a selfless devotee is also burnt up by the Grace of Krishn.

icchä-vaçät päpam upäsakänäà

kñéyeta bhogonmukham apy amusmät |

prärabdha-mätraà bhavatétareñäà

karmävaçiñöaà tad-avaçya-bhogyam ||169||

( Read Brihad Bhagwatamrit 3/169)

So i hope now the matter is resolved conclusively.

How to Develop Love

1. See truth everywhere that with each person who comes in front of you , there is parmatama along with him. Mentally pay your obeiences to that parmatama in each person. Start this today right from home to office to the world at large.

Nartanu Guru-Sangh by Kripalu Maharaji : Read Everyday Series

Nartan Guru-Sangh
Govind Radhe
Prem pipasa teeno lakysha dilade

To achieve our God-Realization Goal, three things are essential
1. Human Body (due to kripa of God , one gets this)
2. Knowledge of Goal and way to achieve ( due to kripa of Guru one understand this)

Think what you did that you got human body
Think what you did that you understood the goal. how many scripture you read yourself?

3. Prem Pipasa ( longing for God is the responsibility of individual)
Mumksha/lalsa/tadpan/bookh

This pipasa depends on vairgya.ie the knowledge that this world is not ours.

"This wife, parents, friends, society, money are not for soul. They are for the body."
This knowledge should remain stable 100% all the time.
Think of death when you will go alone. Think in solitude when you will go alone
no one will be with you. only your karma will go and you will get result of your karma
how will we feel that time.

you will have to practise constantly and 1 day it will become stable knowledge.
Then prem pipasa will arise.Right vairga will arise.

The stronger prem pyas ( thirst) the closer we are towards our goal.
This is your responsibility only
God did his work by grace giving you human body and giving you guru
Guru did his work by giving you knowledge of goal which you wont have understood even in millions of years .. in few mins he explained you
Now its your turn
Bhakti karna/ sadhana karna/ man ko lagana.
Neither God nor Guru can do this for you
If God could have done this, then there would not have been this universe.
See God has 1 power called satya sankalp. ie he just have to think and its done.
he doesn't have to do.. it just will happen by his thinking alone.
he will have to just think.
shristi ho ja.. hogayi
praleya ho ja.. hogaya
raksha ho ja..
sarira ho ja..
nirakar ho ja..

this quality is also with saints. 100%
but neither God nor saint have been able to do what?
that all souls get promoted to golok by sankalp
if some saint does this sankalp, then our work is done freely
why to spend time , efforts along with sadhaks, why to write books etc
just think and its done..
So God and Saint cannot do this. We will have to do this.
we have been sitting thinking Guru or God will do this for us for 100, thousands of years
We will have to leave this foolishness and we will have to do it our self
Jiva will have to do it. Jiva will have to walk upwards. not downwards.

So this prem pipasa , we will have to increase
so we have 1 mind and there are 2 things

God and World
Nectar and Poision

we can take only 1 .

and we cannot stay without adapting 1 of them.
since we have eternal natural thirst to satisfy ourselves

so going in right direction, get the right thing

Remember 1 thing about this human body always
Next moment we may get to live or not.
Don't think what is my age as of now.
can you see from eyes , people are dying at all ages any time.
Think for yourself as well
this is the biggest surprise that we don't think about our own death
hence don't procrastinate the devotion. Do it now.
prahlad says do bhakti in childhood itself. who knows whether we will get youth?

Think again and again these 3 points
Think again and again about world and get vairaga
Only with constant continuous efforts will it happen.

if you don't do , you will roam around in 84 lac species

jiva is independent in doing karma BUT he is not independent in its results.
he will have to bear all consequence.

-----------------end --------

I am not able to do sadhana?

I don't get tears in the eyes
I get bored after some hours of bhajans/kirtan
I am lazy in doing sadhana
I am careless in doing sadhana

Tell me what should i do?
Ans: Remember in love there is no effort. You don't have love for God. That's why its becoming an effort for you and you have to "do" sadhana. you have to put "efforts" in doing roopdhyan.

OK I don't have love . you are correct. so what?

So just cry out to God, God give me love so that i can remember you without efforts. Ask and you shall get it.

But i try to cry and still i don't get those emotions. I do ask God to give me love. What to do?

If you cannot cry and that means you lack affinity towards God. So start with including God (your gopala or your thakur or your lala or whatever name you like in daily activities)

How do include him in daily activities?( Madhurya bhao will not be explained here)
1. How to include him while taking bath? ( Dasya bhao)
A. look after bath you will do aarti of him. this body belongs to him and its his property. So in service to him, we serve his property properly this body. Keep it clean and good.

B. Ask him to take bath quickly while you prepare breakfast ( Vatsalya bhao)

2. How to include him when i cook food ( lunch/dinner)? ( Vatsalya bhao )
See he is watching you as you cook. he is eagerly waiting for the food . he like a small child is even banging his thali on ground making noise and saying you give me food ma.. i am so hungry . i cannot wait. i want nice tasty food. ma please add some tasty masala as well.. like this u can include him

3. How to include him while traveling to office? ( Sakha bhao)
Dress him formally. make him wear suit and tie and shoes and what not. Best dress attire that can exist , make him wear. He is your office colleague and working with you and right now see ,he is in the cube just behind you.

See he is looking at you always and not working. scold him if needed so that he does some work and allow you to work as well. check occasionally if he is working or still looking at you and if you see him looking at you.. scold him or complain to Kishoriji(Radhaji). She will take care of him.

At lunch time, you and he can eat together. So call him and then open your lunch and have it together

Also you can go out for sometime along with him in lunch time.

You can ask him any problems you face during work. If he is not busy with his work, he will help you . but don't expect his help . He has lots of natak if you start giving him bhao ( importance).

Finally before going home, check if he is coming with you and wants to sit little longer. I would suggest you come along with him to home. you will have some company till home.

This way you include him

4. how to include him while cooking for dinner?
explained earlier

5. How to include him at sleep time? ( vatsalaya bhao)
tell thakur. u sleep now.both of us have to go to office tommorow morning. we will talk in morning now. if you want we can talk in dreams .. but pls sleep now. he likes to listen to story of RadhaKrishna. So to make your thakur sleep, tell him a few leelas from bhagavatam.

ok i understood how to include him .

Good. Now include him and after some time, once you have developed affinity with him 24 hrs , you can then start including yourself in his leelas directly which are described in bhagavatam.

Also remember the fact always.

Tell me what fact?

You will be dead after some time. No one will come to save you except Guru/Thakura. Whatever is yours , will be taken away from you. So you will be alone. Get used to this fact now. Think over it all the time. This job, this spouse, this child, this parents, this world, this body.. , this satsangi ( yes a satsangi is just another person who has just understood something about God in similar way like you that's it. nothing much. he is just a wave and will dissolve like others unless he realizes God and becomes a saint ).

am i all alone?

you are not alone. There is Thakura and Guru with you and ofcouse your karma sanskars are walking behind you like snakes. SO the fight at death has your biggest enemy as karma sanskars ( most of them are bad) and your only weapon against them is spiritual sanskars/your thakur/Guru. So ask thakur.. where will we go after i die.. Lets go where ever you like thakur we stayed all this life together now lets stay together where ever you like ..

How to recognize a real saint

1. A real saint mind being always engrossed in God (radhakrishna) keeps emitting love vibrations all the time. So anyone can associate with such a saint and experience the love vibration. How long to associate depends on the reception ability of the person. The more dirt is in his mind, the more time he needs to associate to recognize the love vibrations consciously.

2. The dinve love vibrations sometimes crosses the inside and gets expressed on outside body. These are called astha sattavic bhav. One may get to see this in a real saint somemtimes.

3. When one receives the love vibrations, he will start crying automatically with tears in his eyes. That way you can know that you have received love vibrations

Experiences Attributable to Spiritual Devotion

In Bhakti yoga certain observable bodily changes may take place. They are described in Narada's Bhakti Sutras, and there are also references to them in the Ramayana, the Mahabharata, the Srimad Bhagavata Maha Purana, and various other religious works of the Hindu tradition. They are known as the ashta sattvika vikara, or the eight purifying changes. These devotional symptoms do not appear in all yoga practitioners, but neither are they particularly uncommon. Because many people experience them spontaneously in the company of a spiritual master; or when chanting or singing devotional songs, or from mystical experiences that occur in sadhana, from religious ceremonies, or even from reading scriptures or the lives of saints, it is important for yoga teachers and practitioners to understand them. They also can be seen among aspirants in a variety of spiritual paths including some shamanic traditions, where they are often interpreted as evidence of voluntary possession by a deity or benign spirit.

But according to yoga, the ashta sattivika vikara occur because the emotions of devotion interact with certain pranic flows in the chakras of the subtle body and begin to purify the body-mind complex. Each of the five lower chakras controls the manifestation of energy into one of the five states of matter: solid, liquid, luminous, gaseous, and pure space. When emotions arise, they interact with the energies of these five centers, and the result is physical expression of an emotional state. When the emotions of love or longing for God or spirituality arise, the resulting expressions are considered positive because they purify the subtle nerve channels, or nadis.

The concentration of prana rotates every hour among the five lower chakras. The first of these ashta sattvika vikara is called stambha, meaning "stunned." It occurs when devotional feelings arise while prana is concentrated in the solid or "earth" element, at the muladhara chakra (at the base of the spine). The body becomes still and cannot move, and the mind and breath may be temporarily inactivated as well. If the prana is concentrated in the liquid or "water element" at the svadhishthana chakra when a strong devotional feeling arises, another of the ashta sattvika vikara, called ashru (weeping), can occur. It is said that the tears of devotion are cool and come from the outside corners of the eyes, unlike tears of anger or bitterness which come out of the center of the eyes or the inside corners. Ashru is seen often in ashrams where there is a great deal of devotional sentiment; people find themselves spontaneously crying without understanding why.

When the prana is concentrated in the manipura chakra, where the luminous or "fire element" resides, two expressions of purifying change are possible. One of these is called baivarna - the skin can radically change from one color to another, and the devotee may feel quite tired. The other is sveda, or sweat. Great heat can be created in the body, causing copious, spontaneous sweating, "as if," in the words of Baba Hari Dass, "the person just stepped out of the water." When the prana is concentrated in the anahata chakra, the seat of the gaseous or "air element," a variety of changes can happen: spontaneous rapid breathing or trembling, called kampa; or blocking of the voice so that one cannot speak and only hoarse sounds come out (svarbanga); or pulaka, when the hairs on the scalp prickle or stand up, goosebumps arise on the skin, and there is a feeling of joy in the heart. When the prana is concentrated in the vishuddha chakra (located at the base of the neck), an experience called pralaya can take place. The body faints, and if standing, it may fall to the floor. Other bhavas, such as unconscious dancing, singing in ecstasy, chills, and release of mucus from the throat and head, can sometimes be observed; about these, Baba Hari Dass has written: "These are natural processes of purifying the body, mind, and nerves. Ancient yogis recognized that intense sattvic emotions were inherently strong in only a few, rare people, and so they developed other means whereby anyone can purify the body and awaken kundalini, for example, through the practices of hatha yoga (pranayama, shat karma, mudra, etc.)."

Kripalu Maharaj Lecture Summary 29 OCt 2007

Memory is weak nowadays of people. They forget quickly. Hence its important that they keep revising/reviewing mentally what all they have listened. ( Manana karna)
Review like ok he said this and then this and then this.
Slowly the knowledge will become stable.
Unless you have achieved God, dont think you have learnt or understood completely.
I have told you many times that Radha-Krishna is sitting in your heart and noting all your ideas. still you all forget.

Be alert like a new driver driving a car. This sanskar has lots of crowd to evoke bad thoughts in you. Be alert always. A second of careless then lead to accident and death. same way a second of careless may make us do very big pap ( bad karma)

Maharaji then gives example of a cow.

I saw a cow sitting outside yesterday. She was chewing food and also constantly using her tail to fan her body so that mosqitios dont sit and bite her.

Imp points
-----------
1. Constantly keep on putting efforts without a gap of second.

Kripalu Maharaj Lecture Summary 23 OCt 2007

where ever our interest is ..
we will get attached there automatically

A girl before marriage has interest in her parent house
A girl after marriage has interest in her husband house.

There is only 1 mind
If your mind is not getting attached to God
then it means it is attached to World.

you will have to leave wordly attachement
not by reading
but by buddhi
paccka gayan
continous and again and again think

in short..
whatever materialistic activitiy you do..
think of its temporary nature of happiness
and think of permenant nature of hapinesss of God

Cigrate smoking..
initially you take it some time
and then become addicted

then God is divine love power
initially you keep trying attaching your self
and when you start getting that ananad
you get attached firmly

Guru

1. To those who are constantly devoted to serving Me with love, I give the understanding by which they can come to Me ( Gita 10-10)

2. "Those who investigate the nature of this world with their own
efforts manage to lift themselves up even without the help of a
guru. The self (atma) is one's real guru and guide, and man is
fully capable of arriving at his own good by both direct
perception and inference." (Shrimad Bhagavata Purana: 11.7.20)

3. One must deliver himself with the help of his mind, and not degrade himself. The mind is the friend of the conditioned soul, and his enemy as well. ( Gita 6-5)

4. (Swami Vivekananda)
"You cannot teach anyone, but somebody may learn from you."
(Swami Vivekananda)

One who is ready to learn can learn from anywhere. The Sanskrit
word for 'university' is "Vishva-Vidyalaya", Vishva connoting the
world and vidyalaya meaning a temple of knowledge, offering the
whole world as a potential teacher before us.

However, don't try to become a python overnight, but do always
keep in mind the highest goal of life - attaining the immortal
through the mortal (human body).

5. Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī states in this connection, gurv-anusaraṇe pravartaka ity arthaḥ: the knowledge acquired by one's own perception and intelligence leads one to appreciate the value of the representative of Lord Kṛṣṇa

What about feelings and emotions ( Vipassana and Bhakti)

Vipassana :The feeling and emotions of a vipassana sadhak are eradicated by equanimity to nothing or void since this path takes one there. Hence Metta Meditation is the positive and very essential part after Vipassna Mediation.

Bhakti : ( by Swami Vivekananda)
"In Bhakti-Yoga the central secret is, therefore, to know that the various passions, and feelings, and emotions in the human heart are not wrong in themselves; only they have to be carefully controlled and given a higher and higher direction, until they attain the very highest condition of excellence.
The highest direction is that which takes us to God; every other direction is lower. We find that pleasures and pains are very common and oft-recurring feelings in our lives. When a man feels pain, because he has not wealth or some such worldly thing, he is giving a wrong direction to the feeling. Still, pain has its uses. Let a man feel pain that he has not reached the Highest, that he has not reached God, and that pain will be to his salvation. When you become glad that you have a handful of coins, it is a wrong direction given to the faculty of joy; it should be given a higher direction, it must be made to serve the Highest Ideal. Pleasure in that kind of ideal must surely be our highest joy. This same thing is true of all our other feelings. The Bhakta says that not one of them is wrong, he gets hold of them all and points them unfailingly towards God."

Eradication of Karmas ( VIpassana and Bhakti)

Eradication of Karma Sanskars
------------------------------------
Vipassana: Bad Karma arises as unpleasant sensation which on observing equanimously, it gets eradicated without new seed. Good Karma arises as pleasant subtle sensations which on observing equanimouly , gets eradicated without new seed.

Bhakti: Bad Karma melts away in the fire of seperation from God where as Good Karma melts away with intense pleasure derived from mediatiing on God. Source : Words of Swami Vivekananda on Bhakti Yoga.
" Until the bondages of the soul pass away, it cannot of course be free, whatever may be the nature of the path that the religious man takes. Here is a passage showing how, in the case of one of the blessed Gopis, the soul-binding chains of both merit and demerit were broken. “The ntense pleasure in meditating on God took away the binding effects of her good deeds. Then her intense misery of soul in not attaining unto Him washed off all her sinful propensities; and then she became free.” (Vishnu-Purâna)."

Grace of Radha-Krishna

Two days back I wrote that if God is there , Let him grace me else i am going full stream towards Vipassana .. a dissolution of soul.

Today I am graced. I intend to leave Vipassana and start my Bhakti Practise again. The divine sweetnees for heart and the divine knowledge/wisdom for mind gained by grace of Radha-Krishna has brought in these changes.

Now I will start real serious Bhakti.. the ultimate selfless service to Radha-Krishna.

The so called conflict of teachings of Buddha and Krishna now seems to be in harmony. Each teaching is important and useful given various external factors and its nice to see how the two teachings merge.

Now my heart and mind are one towards Bhakti.

Buddha and Krishna

As of today , labor day long weekend, a cry from pain from heart came due to differences in the teaching of buddha and krishna. Buddha said there is no self and no God. Krishna said I am God and you are soul and this body is just a cloth. The sweetness of bhakti and bliss of just being aware which i have experienced , i need to say bhakti is sweeter. i would also need to say as of now that however if vipassana is applied on bhakti experience .. the sweetness also melts away just like waves.

One thing is clear from both teachings. That I am definitely not this body and i still think i am this body. How do i remove this ignorance? Bhakti or Vipassana or both. I dont think both can go along together since both systems contradicts each other. I will go with Vipassana as of now. If God as personified is there , He will know my sincere longing and dedication.

I leave to Him to grace me with His wisdom and His love. I shall go with my matter based awareness of this body since i , with my limited ability can only feel this gross body , mind and their waves.

I firmly believe "no one harm himself knowingly. no one does wrong knowingly since doing wrong always harm the doer first". For this I dont need Buddha or Krishna to verify. My inner self is sufficient.

Now from 4th Sep 2007, my real journey will begin and no power of this world would be able to stop it. If there is Lord Krishna ,let Him come and grace me and turn me towards Bhakti else i am moving towards dissolution of everything towards Nirvana.

Conflicts between Buddha Teaching and Veda -2

Recently I came across a famous well-known book among followers of Vedic Teaching named "The True History and the Religion of India", a concise Encyclopedia of Authentic Hinduism written by "His Divinity,Dharm Chakrvarti, Swami Prakashanand Saraswati".
For more details on the author read http://barsanadham.org/shree_swamiji.html

Now i will reproduce text "as it is" of pages 568-571 of the above book which can be treated as conflicts . This time by Vedic scholars on Buddha's Teaching.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Gautam Buddh, although he was a Divine Personality, did not introduce the Divinity at all in his teachings. According to the need of the existing social conditions of that time, he only introduced the path of compassion for the beings of the world which is just the sattvic quality of maya. Maya is such a peculiar power which exists like 'nothing' for a God realized Saint, and, during the maha pralaya, it exists like 'absolute nothingness.' So, Gautam Buddh designed his theory of "nothingness." Accordingly, it is called "shoonya vad," which means the philosophy of nothingness or the philosophy of mayavad. There are four branches of Buddhism, called: Madhyamik, Yogachar, Vaibhashik and Sautrantik. There are slight differences in their philosophy, but all of them, in general, are called shoonya val. That's why Buddhism is called a non-Godly religion.

The secret of Gautam Buddh's 'enlightenment' and his term 'nirvan':
When Gautam Buddh said that he got enlightenment after 49 days of fasting and meditation, it doesn't mean that previously he was ignorant and then he become enlightened in a literal sense. His 'enlightenment' only meant 'the discovery of a truth,' and the truth was that desires are the causes of pain; so, removethe desires, and the pain is gone.

Gautam Buddh used the word nirvan for this kind of desireless and thoughtless state of mind. Nirvan word means to extinguish (the flame of the desires). Desires create anxieties and excite the heart so they are paraphrased as a flame, like the flame of a candle. Now take an example: A candle is burning. You extinguish it. But, as long as the candle is there, it can again be ignited, because the burning element, the wick and wax, is still there. This is nirvan, to temporarily extinguish the flame of the desires.

Thus, nirvan is not liberation from the mayic bondage, it is only an intermediate state. Liberation means the total elimination of the mind along with the past uncountable accumulated karmas of a soul (which means the total destruction of the candle according to the above example). The same is the case with the practises of Jain religion. So, after attainingthe ultimate height, the nirvan (according to both, the Jain and Buddh religions), the practitioner has to adopt the guidelines of the scriptures (Sanatan Dharm) and do bhakti to a personal form of God. Only then hemay receive liberation from the mayic bondage of birth and death with the Grace of God, otherwise not. But the approach of Gautam Buddh was only up to nirvan and the 'absolute nothingness(Shoonya Vad) which is a mayic state, and so his theory was formulated on non-Godly grounds.

The self-contradictions of his philosophy:

His philosophy is self-contradictory. It says that out of nothing the whole universe was created and mind(Vgyanskand) is only an accumulation of informations which a person receives through his senses. Mind has the ability to create the body and the visual world. Mind, along with its emotions, attachments and informations, is the prime thing called antarsamudaya, the inner accumulated thing that creates the vahyasamydaya, the outside world which is changing every moment. Liberation from the pains of the world is called nirvan in Buddh religion which is a state of mind when all the thoughts, all the desires and all the attachments are totally removed from the mind through the practise of meditation and renunciation. This is the theory of Buddhism.

If you carefully examine their theory you will find that its every aspect is self-contradictory. Its is an axiom that nothing could be produced out of total nothingness; then how was the whole universe created out of total nothingness? When mind itself is only the accumulation of informations and thoughts, how then was the mind initially formed when there was no human body, no visual world and thus no information? Thoughts are the cause of every action on the body. Total elimination of thoughts and desires from the mind, which is the nirvan state of Buddhism, would cause the body of the doer to appear like a dead log. Such a nirvan is not even witnessed in the history of Buddhism. The particles of an atom are bound with its nuclear power otherwise they would be wandering loose in the space. When the 'mind' aspect in Buddhism is only the accumulation of thoughts and informations, what is then the binding factor of those individual thoughts and informations which holds them together in the form of a mind? Such contradictions are the basic faults of Buddhism on which its entire theory if formulated.

Reconciliation of Buddh and Jain theories: A question arises: What was the use of creating such a theory of nothingness, or the imaginative theory of soul ( in Jainism) where it is lighter or heavier and smaller or larger?

It has already been stated that both Jain and Buddh religions were introduced for only a particular and specific purpose of showing the path of humbleness and compassion, because the animal killers, meat eaters, and non-Godly chatriya rulers of those days had no interest in God. So they needed the lesson of compassion which was the best thing for them to become good people, and thus, gradually practicing to renounce their wordly ambitions, they may become happier in their life. The talk of God was not needed for them. Thus, whatever theory was created was enough for them, and the main thing was that the practise of being humble and compassionate, and the procedures of penance, fasting, renunciation and meditation, or whatever was formulated in those two religions was to improve the sattivic quality of the doer. By practicing these religions, when the person has released his worldly desires and attachments, he would naturally being to think of God and God realization and His absolute Bliss; and in that case he would naturally be drawn towards the greatness of Hindu scriptures and begin to follow the path of Sanatan Dharm. That was the hidden secret behind the formation of both the dharmas, Jain and Buddh. But the common people of kaliyug always take things in their wanted style, and thus, instead of following the universal tachings of Sanatan Dharm, the followers of Jain and Buddh dharmas made it an excuse to criticize the Sanatan Dharm.

Buddhism after Gautam Buddh: Sometime after Gautam Buddh the integrity of Buddhism began to fall and the Buddhists, instead of following the path of purity, humbleness and giving respect to others, become involved in religions politics, self praise and opposing Vedic dharm
. Their vanity and opposition had become so strong that when Shankaracharya was born, at that time they were acting as a headstrong born enemy of Vedic dharm. They destroyed our religious books and tried to kill Kumaril Bhattas he was a follower of Vedic dharm. Their monasteries grew in numbers and they were quite prosperous in India in those days. Jains were not so popular as Buddhists in those days but they also freely criticized Vedic dharm. So, to overthrow the effect of Buddhism from India, Shankarcharya used the philosophy of advait vad and re-establised Sanatan Vedic dharm.

The present situation: It is general rule that when a person neglects, disrespects or criticizes the supreme Divinity ( Krishn, Ram, Vishnu, Shiv or Durga) or His devotion ( bhakti) or His Divine love, leelas or abodes, in any way, or allegorizes and misinterprets the Divine events and the Divine facts of our scriptures, it becomes a spiritual transgression. Such a transgression pollutes the heart of the doer as it is a direct contempt against the supreme Divine power. The second thing is that although honestly and sincerely following the spiritual practises as prescribed by a religion ( which is introduced by a holy man) purify the heart to some extent if they are humbly practiced, but if the practitioner commits spiritual transgressions, his heart becomes more and more polluted, even if he follows a religion as a routine; and in general, this is the case with the monks of both the these religions.

Conflicts between Buddha Teaching and Veda

" 294. Having slain mother (craving), father (egotism), and the two kings of the Kshatriya caste (the two false doctrines of eternalism and annihilation of the soul), and having destroyed the kingdom with its inhabitants (the twelve bases of sense perception and objects of attachment), the true Brahman goes his way unperturbed."
